Business Sectors - Casablanca Settat Region

The Casablanca Settat region is composed of two prefectures and 7 provinces; the most prosperous region currently weighing a third of Morocco's GDP. The region of Casablanca-Settat covers an area of 19,448 km2, and it has important infrastructures; skilled human capital, private companies and attractive sectors making it a mega region whose development remains promising.

Assets of the Casablanca Settat region

This region is identified as the most economically dynamic region with an activity rate representing 50% of the national GDP, half of which is carried out by the prefecture of Casablanca. Indeed, the region has various attractions, namely its infrastructure and its natural wealth. It is natural that it stands out as a privileged territory for investors in various sectors of activity.

Casablanca-Settat is well covered by the national highway network, with links linking it to other regions. It also houses the Mohammed V International Airport and the railway hub which has as main stations Casa-Port and Casa Voyageurs, in addition to an important public and private educational infrastructure, including primary, secondary and university training institutions.

The availability of these infrastructures allows the development of several growth sectors that interest more and more investors from Morocco and abroad, namely: offshoring, aeronautics, automobile industry, electronics, textiles, agribusiness as well as tourism.

The Casablanca-Settat region has a strong agricultural potential and important agro-food infrastructures, allowing it to produce 32% of the agricultural GDP.

On the industrial front, the region is full of huge potential, large industries and renowned companies such as OCP and COSUMAR, thus generating 65% of the national industrial production.

The offshoring sector accounts for nearly 80% of regional sales and 66% of national sales.

In addition to these productive sectors, the region is experiencing significant growth in the aerospace sector.
It brings together more than 90 companies representing more than 80% of the national aeronautical industrial web in different specialties: notably the wiring, the mechanics, the boiler making, the composite, the mechanical assembly; and that positions Morocco as a privileged destination of the aeronautical subcontracting.

The region is home to the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the first stock exchange in the Maghreb and West Africa and the second stock exchange in Africa after the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, with 75 listed companies and 17 stock exchange companies playing a pivotal role in the Moroccan economy.

The region is endowed with a unique art-deco in the world, a dense and diversified forest landscape and a tangible and intangible heritage gathering a very rich cultural diversity that the region has developed and exploited thanks to its know-how and expertise in the field and it is positioned as the third tourist destination in Morocco. its ambitions by 2020 is to welcome 900,000 additional tourists.
