DESALINATION PLANT

In order to mitigate the effects of water stress and pave the way for a better response to the needs of a growing population, the construction of a desalination plant is planned at the regional level.

Within the framework of the new Water Plan 2020-2027, this new facility’s ambition is to be the largest in the whole continent and to secure the region's access to potable water.

  • 50 ha area

  • Allocated budget of about 10 million MAD

  • A rainwater harvesting pool of a capacity of 9 500 m3

  • Processing capacity : 200 million m3/year, extendable up to 300 million m3
